The magical tiger territory of Tadoba National Park ‘Moharli Zone’ is basically the central area or core zone originally bifurcated area of the national park with no villages or human settlements. The floral and faunal natural species of Tadoba are highly conserved and human activity is extremely limited.
Moharli Safari Gate is one of the oldest entrances to the park, which located approximately at a distance of 180 kilometer away from the Nagpur airport or Railway station and 30 kilometer from Chandrapur. Jeep safari in this tourism zone conducted in two shifts – morning as well in evening. 32 gypsies are allowed to enter in one day – 16 jeeps in morning and 16 jeeps in evening one 22 seater canter bus go for a tiger safari.
The tourism zone of Maharli best known for enjoying jeep safari ride as the density of wildlife species living in this area is very high. The main tiger reserve of Tadoba Andhari give easy access to the wild world that comprises of animals such as royal Bengal tigers, leopards, sloth bear, hyena, jackal, wild dog, sambar, cheetal, languor, nilgai and many more to list. Hence the chance of spotting the animals in this zone is very high.
Both morning as well as evening jeep safari in Tadoba is the most feasible idea to explore the each and every nook and corner of the forest. Tadoba Moharli forest like any other tiger reserve is open for tourists from October to June every year. During monsoon season – July August and September forest is kept closed for tourism.
Generally, the most common question strike in our mind before planning forest trips – when is the best season to visit. Wildlife experts says that winters when the climate is quite cool and pleasant, there is abundant of water around and forest is lush green or its summer when there is scarcity of water and tigers head towards the artificial water bodies in the forest making high probability of tiger sightings.
